The Ujjwala Education Mission & Women Development Scheme is an initiative focused on creating meaningful opportunities for the children and women of small-scale industry workers. The programme aims to promote education, skill development, self-reliance, and social empowerment, especially among families with limited access to educational and economic resources.
Ujjwala Education Mission
Under the Ujjwala Education Mission, free two-hour tuition classes are provided to children of small-scale industry workers. The initiative seeks to support children who may face challenges in accessing quality educational support due to financial or social circumstances.
Through regular academic guidance and a supportive learning environment, the programme encourages children to continue their education, develop confidence, strengthen their learning skills, and pursue their aspirations.
The initiative also promotes the broader importance of education in society. By creating opportunities for children from diverse social and economic backgrounds to learn and grow, it encourages social inclusion, awareness, confidence, and a positive outlook towards the future.
Women Development & Skill Training
The Women Development component of the programme focuses on strengthening the skills and self-reliance of women and daughters of small-scale industry workers.
Under this initiative, eligible participants are provided free two-hour skill-development training in areas such as:
- Embroidery
- Weaving
- Sewing & Stitching
- Painting
- Other practical and creative skills
These training opportunities are designed to help women develop useful skills, enhance their confidence, explore opportunities for livelihood generation, and move towards greater economic independence.
