The Small Industries Development Council aims to raise awareness among small-scale industry workers about government benefits and assist them in availing these schemes. In line with the vision of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Council is dedicated to fulfilling the objective of providing employment to disadvantaged groups through micro, small, and medium enterprises. Additionally, the Council is also active in providing healthcare and educational facilities to small-scale industry workers.
In the vision of Mahatma Gandhi, the village was considered a crucial unit of the nation, and the concept of Gram Swaraj (village self-governance) was envisioned, reflecting that the prosperity of the nation lies in the prosperity of its villages. However, despite independence, comprehensive development of villages and their inhabitants has not been achieved. Development schemes have been confined to cities, and the benefits are not reaching the public. Despite government provisions, issues such as corruption and laxity have led to farmers not receiving timely seeds, fertilizers, electricity, and water, and small industry workers facing a lack of proper benefits and training. To address these problems, ensure the implementation of government schemes for the public, provide education to the children of small industry workers, and offer free training in sewing, embroidery, weaving, and painting, the Small Industries Development Council has been established. Its commitment is to ensure that children receive education from a basic to an advanced level and to assist in making the men and women of villages self-reliant.
